- But to answer your 'question': I think your friend is right. Some
- better language will come out. Eventually. But right now, and probably
- in the not-so-near future, C/C++ is/are the languages to use. Most non-
- trivial programming is done in that language.

- A lot can be said to defend C, but I think the best thing to do is to
- ignore your friend. Let him wait for that new and better languages.
- You just learn C, and make a lot of money as a programmer. By the time
- that new language is released, you'll have a financial headstart he'll
- never catch up on... :-)
